In the past few months, the Online Learning team has been hard at work to expand library services to our global community. We’ve worked with various departments across the university and the library to offer robust and dynamic online programs. Here are a few of the ways we’ve expanded over the year.
- We hired a Global Campus Outreach and Online Learning Librarian. Dina Meky joined the team in July 2019. Dina works with many of the graduate programs in the College of Professional Studies and Northeastern’s global campus sites.
- We offered virtual orientations for our global campuses. Dina and Lindley Homol, the Manager of Global Campus Engagement and Online Learning, hosted library orientation webinars for Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco, and San Jose this past fall. This spring, Dina and Brooke Williams, the liaison librarian for computer science, welcomed the Vancouver campus with an orientation of their own. Missed the orientation for your campus? - We expanded online webinar offerings. Dina has worked with staff across library departments so that students, staff, faculty, and community members can join library webinars and online workshops about citation management, podcasting, research data management, systematic reviews, the Archives, and more. You can watch recordings of these sessions or check out upcoming offerings in the library calendar.
- We’ve added new tutorials. The Online Learning team remains hard at work on tutorials that can be accessed whenever and wherever they’re needed. You can find the full list on our Research Tutorials guide, but here are a few that might help everyone while classes are running online:
We are constantly looking for new ways to innovate, improve our services and offer even more programs and online opportunities for our students, faculty and staff. We welcome comments, questions, or ideas for new online initiatives. Please feel free to reach out to Lindley (l.homol@northeastern.edu) or Dina (d.meky@northeastern.edu) at any time.
