As Stephanie reported last year, if you’re a Shakespeare or outdoor theater fan, you’ll want to be sure to check out this summer’s performance of The Comedy of Errors on Boston Common.聽 If you like you can brush up on the play ahead of time by checking out one of Snell’s copies.聽 The Boston Globe ran an article recently on the popularity of outdoor summer Shakespeare performances in the US. They also covered some background to the production and the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company earlier this year. The Comedy of Errors is playing now through August 16, so take a picnic and enjoy it while you can!聽聽
The weather is going to be awesome for it tonight (Friday) and tomorrow, too! I can recommend these productions; I try to go every year and have only missed maybe one since 1999 or so. If you go, I recommend bringing a lawn chair, rather than a blanket, if you can scrounge one up — Shakespeare plays are long and sitting on the ground that long can be tough. 馃檪 I learned that lesson two years ago and will be sure to bring a chair when I go tomorrow (Saturday) night!
I saw the play last night and really had a good time (as did everyone else I was with.) It’s final night is this Sunday at 7, so be sure to see it this weekend if you haven’t already!
